15 Exterior Brick and Paint Color Combinations You Should Try for More Curb Appeal

Upgrade or change the look of a a red, tan, blond, gray, or painted brick home exterior with paint. From choosing the right shade for your trim or front door to painting the brick itself, there are a variety of options to complement or modernize a traditional brick exterior, or to refresh a dated brick facade.

Boost your curb appeal with these exterior brick and paint color combinations.

How to Choose Brick and Paint Color

If you like the look of the original brick, paint window trim, shutters, and porch columns in neutral shades such as white or black, or personalize your home with a signature front door color. If the brick looks tired, is of low quality, or doesn’t suit your taste, modernize your exterior with a fresh coat of white, black, or gray paint. You can also give it a whitewash or a German schmear for a weathered farmhouse look.

Keep in mind that while it is simple to paint brick, it is less easy to remove. So be sure to think through your choice before proceeding, particularly if you are painting an older home where the wrong paint choice can damage the original character of the architecture.
