Flooring company announces new ownership, renovations
Burkholder’s Flooring America is under new ownership.
As of May 31, Anita Hornbaker and Dusty Stockslager are the owners of the store at 13412 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown.
According to the company’s website, Stockslager became an owner in 2020 following a long-time employee’s retirement. Hornbaker, who has worked for the business for 34 years, had already been a part of the ownership team.
Burkholder’s Flooring America was founded by Eber Burkholder in 1939. Before the current ownership, Marlin Grove and Arvin Eby both had stakes in the company, per the website.
“The ownership has changed a little bit throughout the years but it’s either been Burkholder or employees that have always been the ownership team,” Hornbaker said.
The store has also undergone some renovations recently, which include flipping the tile and carpet areas so the tile offering could be larger, new carpeting, lighting, and new paint, plus more displays to come, Hornbaker said.
“It’s much more open,” Hornbaker said. “Lighter, brighter. Actually, the designers that come in here (are) very impressed and pleased with the way the showroom looks with all the renovations.”
Stockslager said people are welcome to stop by the newly renovated store and say hello to the Burkholder’s team.
