Try one or more of these great ideas for decorating home decor with Rick Rack trim. I’ve always loved Rick Rack, and it’s making a comeback.
Since my allergies are driving me nuts right now, I’m doing my daily walking routine in the mall. I don’t just walk through the mall corridors; I walk through a few of the stores just to see what’s new.
That’s when I spotted a lady’s blouse decorated with white Rick Rack trim. See, you can get DIY project ideas for home decor anywhere.
When I left the mall, I went to a local “everything” store and bought a couple of packages of Rick Rack.
I went home, walked through each room, and found a few items to spruce up. I also found some old rick rack in my fabric stash.
Today is Thrift Store Decor Day, and I completed my thrifty project or projects in less than 10 minutes.
Applying the trim to my decor items using hot glue was easy. I especially love my battery-powered hot glue gun!
I dropped several small beads along the back side of the rick rack and just stuck it to the vase I spray painted last year. I love this vase and the others I painted because they look so expensive! But they aren’t.
Where the rick rack meets on the back of the vase, I applied a drop of hot glue between the two ends of the trim,, and you can’t tell there is a seam unless you look closely.
The silver plate creamer sits on an antique piece in our family room, and I couldn’t resist adding rick rack to it, too. I started the gluing process at the base of the spout so I could fit it into the “groove” of the rick rack.
The great thing about using hot glue on silver plate or glass surfaces is that you can pop it off without damaging the piece. So when you tire of the rick rack, it is simple to remove.
The bowl is another piece I painted last year. I like the look of off-white paint and stained finishes. You can use this piece just about anywhere.
A simple project that takes just minutes but adds a touch of whimsy to your decor.
I also adhered rick rack to the wood frame that showcases a photo of my beautiful granddaughters. I need to replace the photo because it was taken several years ago.
And the blue “spirits” bottle got rickracked too!
The little “vase” with the faux succulent I spray painted got an upgrade with the rick rack. I did a great job on those succulents! Spray painting the succulents white was another idea I got while shopping.
I can use these pieces in any room of my home and mix up the displays. 
That silver plate piece is as cute as pie. Do you like Rick Rack? I think it’s my age (70) showing because Rick Rack was popular when I was young.
