Customer service and core values
CEO and President Chase Anderson said in addition to providing top-notch HVAC and plumbing services, Shafer Services prides itself on excellent customer service. There are five core values that define the company’s approach to customer service:
- Be easy to do business with.
- Exceed expectations.
- Treat people like family.
- Do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
- Mutual respect for all.
To accomplish this, the Shafer Services team goes out of their way to help customers, either by helping them with a couple other problems in the home or just by taking the customer’s trash down to the street for them.
“Unfortunately, people have to call us when things aren’t going well—their AC is broken and they’re hot, or they have a leak and are worried about water damage,” Anderson said. “It’s really important to me and the Shafer family to make that experience as pleasant as it can possibly be.”
Supporting the next generation
In addition to bettering customers’ lives and experiences, Shafer Services is also dedicated to supporting and uplifting the next generation. Through the company’s new initiative, Shafer Cool Kids, community members can nominate youth groups, sports teams, fine arts clubs, and community projects for support from Shafer Services.
“We don’t just want to donate some money and stick our logo up on the outfield,” Anderson said. “…We’ve been really adamant and committed to not only giving dollars but also giving time, energy and effort to support the kids we sponsor. These are great activities that these young people are involved in, we want to support what they are passionate about and help them be successful.”
Ready to nominate some cool kids? Fill out the nomination form on this page, telling the company about the group or team, what they do, their needs, and how a sponsorship from Shafer Services Plus can make a difference. Remember to include your contact information for follow-up.
Anderson said that all groups, no matter what side of town, are welcome and will qualify for the Shafer Cool Kids program.
“There are always people who need help, no matter what neck of the woods [they live in],” Anderson said.
Groups who are selected can receive support in a number of ways, including:
- financial support for equipment, uniforms, or travel
- resources and materials for projects
- volunteer support from the Shafer Services team
- opportunities for featured stories on the company website and social media
Anderson said Shafer Services has already nominated and supported three groups: a soccer team, basketball team and Scout troop, and the company is looking to support three more groups this year.
“I would encourage people to take the two minutes to fill out the nomination form,” Anderson said. “We love to hear about what’s going on in the community…it can make a difference and we’d be really excited to support [them].”
The groups who have already received sponsorships from the company said they were shocked to be handed a check and get connected with someone who can help provide the time and effort needed to support their mission, and were pleasantly surprised to learn that Shafer Services backed up its generous initiative.
“[Shafer Services has] been here for a long time, and we are going to be here for many more years,” Anderson said. “That’s why an initiative like this is so important to us, because we recognize that these are our people and these are our kids, and this is really improving lives.”
