Some customers shared their frustrations after they said they didn’t get what they purchased from a Sacramento flooring and cabinet company. Brian Crum said he bought carpet for his new home from Zothex Flooring, Cabinets & More, but what he ordered never arrived and was never installed. “It’s terrible. It’s terrible,” Crum said. The original plan was to move in at the beginning of November and enjoy Thanksgiving after ordering and paying a deposit of $3,600 to Zothex in early October.Crum said the project manager told him they merged with another company, causing a delay.”We waited and waited and waited, and finally, it arrived almost a month after making the order,” Crum said. But he said it was the wrong carpet, rolled up in another delay. Crum said he called the project manager again, who told Crum he no longer worked for the company.Trying to get answers, Crum went to the company website and found it under construction. It still was as of Nov. 28. When customers call each of the six locations, they get the same message telling callers they are not accepting new jobs or work. Signs on the doors at the Natomas store, where Crum ordered his carpet, say, “Temporarily closed.”KCRA 3 spotted owner Clayton Rodrigues at the store Tuesday.He didn’t want to speak on camera, but he said, “It’s an unfortunate situation and plans to help all the customers.”However, he wouldn’t say how many.In an Instagram message to KCRA 3, Rodrigues also wrote,”We are not running away with customers moneys. Just need a little patience to get their materials and jobs sorted.”Crum said he finally heard from Rodrigues on social media after posting about his bad experience.”We will get this refunded tomorrow and that was Nov. 16, and it’s been crickets ever since,” Crum said. Crum said they finally had to find another company that was able to install the carpet Thanksgiving week. He had to move on Thanksgiving Day. He also filed a dispute with his bank, which reimbursed him nearly $4,000.When we asked the owner if he was going out of business, he said, “Not yet.”According to the California Secretary of State, Zothex is still in good standing with its business license.
