Floor & Decor soft opened in mid-June, and Columbus homeowners and professionals might win big prizes as the specialty flooring retailer hosts its grand opening events beginning June 27.
Located in Columbus Park Crossing on Whittlesey Road near the AMC theater, the location was a prime consideration for the retailer, Anne Lezotte, senior director of corporate communications told the Ledger-Enquirer.
“As a dynamic retail seller, it provides an excellent opportunity for Floor & Decor to reach both residential and professional customers,” she said. “We believe this location will help us serve the growing demand for high-quality flooring products in the Columbus area.”
Local builders, contractors, architects, flooring installers and other professionals can meet Floor & Decor’s Pro Services Team, supplier representatives and learn more about the retailer’s services and rewards program during a networking event on June 27.
Participants can win $10,000, an iPad or other prizes during the event.
“Floor & Decor is committed to supporting local professionals with dedicated services and resources tailored to their needs,” Lezotte said.
Along with the networking event, customers can visit the store’s website to learn more about how they could register to win a $5,000 Floor Makeover from Columbus store between now through Aug. 20.
The store will spotlight other Columbus businesses, including Midtown Coffee House, Veri Best Donut Co. and Midland Ghost during a “Best In Town” event beginning at 10 a.m.
“Hosting the ‘Best in Town’ event is our way of celebrating and integrating into the Columbus community,” Lezotte said. “By highlighting other local businesses, we aim to foster a sense of community and support.”
The 55,000-square foot location offers a selection of tile, wood, stone and flooring accessories. Around 50 full time and part time employees were hired for the new store.
Inside Floor & Decor
The first area of the store customers see after walking inside Floor & Decor is the design center. Large displays of constructed model bathrooms, outdoor space and other spaces provide visitors to the store a visual representation of what could be recreated in their own homes.
While sales associates are available to help customers that are browsing, people can schedule appointments for free with interior designers in the design center.
Past the design center, are rows of decorative tiles, like mosaics, and other materials that could be used to decorate kitchen backsplashes, bathrooms, floors and walls, for example.
Tile options occupy a large portion of the store, stretching from the front to almost the back of the store with a variety of patterns and sizes. Towards the back of the store, customers can find another department stocked with vanities, light fixtures, kitchen and bathroom faucets and sinks.
Next to this department, customers can find a selection of traditional marble..
Floor & Decor aims to offer products, like marble, at affordable prices, field marketing manager Laney Dennis previously told the Ledger-Enquirer. Dennis said the retailer sources material directly from manufacturers or quarries worldwide.
After the marble options, the store offers a selection of wood, laminate and vinyl options that takes up more than half of the store. While Floor & Decor has many options and stock in-store, customers have access to samples and options that could be ordered from other, larger, warehouse Floor & Decor stores.
The final section of the store is the Pro Services department. Materials and tools needed by professionals can be found here along with the Pro Services Teams.
“Our large in-stock selection means that professionals can count on us for the materials they need when they need them, allowing them to complete their projects efficiently,” Lezotte said.
The store’s ultimate goal is to make every project successful from planning to the final installation, she said.
