This Tineco Stick Vacuum Is My New Go-To for Hardwood

After painting my kitchen cabinets last October, I quickly realized that the non-matching laminate flooring that’s been there since the ‘90s needed to go. My husband wound up spending Thanksgiving weekend installing new hardwood flooring, which meant sawdust literally everywhere. Despite the mess, I was excited for the sawdust, because it meant I could clean the floors for the first time to fully reveal a brand new kitchen. But, of course, this was also the same weekend my vacuum cleaner decided to—pun intended—bite the dust.

After spending hours researching the best vacuum for hardwood floors, my decision was quickly made when Tineco offered to send me the new Go Pet cordless stick vacuum. It was a model that I was already looking at, but after reading reviews from shoppers who used it on hardwood, I knew it would be safe for my brand-new floors.

After nearly two months of use, I am happy to report that I’m actually glad my other vacuum stopped working. I especially love the swivel brush head that glides around furniture with ease. It efficiently picked up all the dust and debris from the renovation project, and I have now used it every day since for quick clean-ups and full-house sweeping. It’s been used on hardwood, bathroom tile, carpet, and area rugs. One of my biggest priorities in a vacuum is finding one that won’t scratch my floors, and the Tineco has managed to keep the newly-installed floors sparkling clean without any damage.

While it has three power settings (eco mode for battery-saving, auto mode for automatic adjusting when changing floor types, and max-mode for heavy-duty cleaning) I leave it on auto mode so it adjusts from my hardwood floors to carpet on its own. You can literally hear the suction getting stronger when changing floor types and feel the power amp up when there’s more debris. The control panel also illuminates blue, pink, or red to show the level of suction it’s using to clean a specific area.

Unlike most vacuums I’ve used in the past, the Tineco also works great on area rugs, using enough suction to clean them without pulling up the corners. Most importantly, it has a five-stage filtration system and HEPA filter, so I feel good knowing it’s trapping invisible particles and keeping my air clean.

Aside from the fact that it cleans well, hasn’t scratched my floors, and converts to a handheld vac, the LED light is my favorite feature—and it’s the brightest I’ve ever seen on a vacuum. The bright light reveals hidden dust I would not have seen otherwise so I know exactly where to clean. I also love that the battery is removable, so I don’t need to plug the entire vacuum in when it’s time to charge. No docking station to take up room; simply pop the battery out and charge it anywhere there’s an outlet. (The battery, by the way, lasts for up to 60 minutes, which is plenty of time for me to clean my entire home.)

While I have mostly used the vacuum on floors, the handheld has been great for areas I can’t reach, including furniture and the corners of carpeted stairs. It comes with a crevice tool for tight areas and a dusting brush, which works well on the hardwood around my kitchen appliances.

The Tinceo is now the only vacuum in my home—and the only one I need—thanks to its ability to clean hardwood, tile, carpet, rugs, and furniture. Shop the Tineco Go Pet vacuum now while it’s on sale or take a look at some similar options at Walmart.
