Ur Decor and More, a home goods store at 680 Moore Road in Avon Lake, is preparing for its annual outdoor warm weather vending markets.
Owner Julie Wolf opened the store nine years ago.
“I’ve always been creative and I needed to have a creative outlet,” Wolf said. “If I’m not creating, I’m not happy.”
Wolf features her custom painted furniture along with other home decor and gift items from local vendors.
“The store is always changing weekly,” she said. “We get stuff in from vendors all the time.”
Specialty items include premium coffee roasts from Warp Zone Roasters and Sassy Bratty Girl’s handmade jewelry.
Customers are greeted by Wolf and Ur Decor and More’s mascot, Rusty the cat.
“Everybody just comes and sits on the couch, maybe has a snack and a cup of coffee and sits with Rusty,” Wolf said. “It’s just a nice place for people to come and relax.”

Starting May 17, Wolf and local vendors will showcase their items during the store’s outdoor markets alongside a food truck.
“We do them once a month during the summer, and I’ll bring in about 20 to 25 vendors,” Wolf said. “You never know what the vendors might be bringing.
“It’s like a scavenger hunt.”
The store also holds crafting classes that include working with infused glass and painting.
Wolf said patrons are encouraged to bring beverages and snacks to relax.

“It’s a fun way for people to come together after a long day at work and learn something new,” she said.
Wolf said it’s important for the community to shop local to get a personalized experience.
“People come in and ask me for suggestions,” she said. “When you go to these big corporate stores, you’re not going to get that; they could care less when you walk in the door or leave.
“With a little shop like this, we have different things than the cookie cutter places, and who wants to be cookie cutter?”
Wolf said she is grateful for her customers and the community.
“I never thought I would be here for nine years,” she said. “I remember signing the lease and thinking, ‘Gosh am I even going to make it a year?’
“I’m really, really thankful for all of the customers I have.”
Ur Decor and More will hold its outdoor markets May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 23 and Sept. 20.
